Author : Carl Sagan

Carl Sagan is a famous American astronomer, scientist, and science fiction author who was a professor of astronomy at Cornell University. Born in 1934 in New York City, he received his Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Chicago in 1960. Sagan's main research was planetary science, and he contributed to many of NASA’s deep space exploration programs, making great achievements in science, popular science and science fiction. He wrote extensively throughout his life, and his major works include Cosmos, Pale Blue Dot, The Demon-Haunted World and Contact. He died in 1996.
